Project Date: Nov 01, 2011

Project objectives

To assist the CRAES and MEP build sustainable leadership and technical capacity to continue to implement the river health assessment and environmental flow assessment programs developed under the IWC-led ACEDP River Health and Environmental Flow in China Project and to ensure successful integration with their own River Basin Master Plans and National River Health Assessment System.

The Fellowship program was delivered successfully towards further developing technical capacity and leadership in river health and environmental flow assessment within CRAES.

By providing key personal from CRAES and MEP with national and international learning and experiences relating to river health assessment, the program enhanced the capacity of Fellows to design and implement river health assessment programs, furthering the ability of CRAES to support MEP in delivering river health assessment programs for a range of Chinese rivers.

Additional feedback received formally and informally from the participants confirmed that the Fellowship program was successful in achieving its purpose of providing experiences, tools and knowledge necessary to design and implement river health assessment programs in China.
