International WaterCentre and QUT developed a training program "Institutional Strengthening for the Adoption of Integrated Water Resources Management" in integrated water resource management for the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) of the Philippines.

IWC jointly implemented with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), an AusAID funded intensive training program in Integrated Water Resource Management for professionals of the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) of the Philippines.
NWRB is the lead government co-ordinating and regulating agency of all water resources development and management in the Philippines.
This training program for 16 senior NWRB staff involved a two-week intensive training in integrated water resource management in Manila, followed by a two-week training program in Brisbane, Australia to explore water reform
The IWRM frame-work subsequently developed by the participants has been adopted by the NWRB to guide the organisation.

- Surface and ground water management and modelling
- Environmental flows

- Operations and maintenance
- Water entitlements and trading

Following the training program, IWC and QUT provided ongoing mentoring to NWRB.
