Understanding our urban stormwater systems

Increased understanding of urban stormwater systems is critical for planners and developers to safely use this water source, and to enable the expansion and densification of our urban spaces while protecting ecosystem function.

IWC's Dr Brian McIntosh is Project Leader for the Urban Water Security Research Alliance's (UWSRA) Stormwater Harvesting and Ecohydrology research program in South East Queensland, which addresses the need for increased understanding of urban stormwater systems.
