Proposals sought for US EPA-funded infrastructure studies

The Water Environment Research Foundation and the Water Research Foundation are seeking engineering and science research projects to improve or evaluate water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.

The research is funded under the US Environmental Protection Agency’s public – private research program: Innovation and Research for Water Infrastructure for the 21st Century.

WERF is seeking research proposals on wastewater and stormwater infrastructure to address:

•    Condition assessment
•    Rehabilitation of conveyance structures
•    Innovative treatment technologies
•    Advanced concepts

Potable water projects will be funded concurrently through the Water Research Foundation.
About $1,000,000 is available to fund as many high-impact projects as possible under the WERF grant. Proposals are due by 6 March 2012.
