Presentation at The University of Queensland
Presented by International WaterCentre (Master of Integrated Water Management Program) and
Along with climate change, the way we manage water has emerged as one of the greatest challenges facing humankind in the 21st Century. This presentation by Dr Peter Oliver, Senior Lecturer with the International WaterCentre (IWC) in Brisbane, will reveal the face of water scarcity at a global and a local level and highlight the links between water and human health, food production, global trade and the health of ecosystems on which we depend for our existence.
From becoming involved in ‘World Toilet Day’ celebrations to learning how to calculate the ‘virtual water’ embedded in things we consume every day, the small group discussions that follow the presentation will allow participants to work with Dr Oliver and IWC Master of Integrated Water Management students to explore positive ways to respond to these watery challenges.
