IWC welcomes 50 new postgraduate students

Lecturers, staff and current students gathered over wine and cheese at IWC's Brisbane office to welcome water professionals from 27 different countries of the world.

The students come from Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Asia, the Pacific, North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East, and for the first time also from Bhutan, Haiti, Egypt and Namibia. Many come fully funded by AusAID Australia Awards Scholarships.

The students are beginning exciting journeys in learning and growth through the IWC Master of Integrated Water Management, Water Leadership Program, and Graduate Certificate in Integrated Water Management (Water Planning).

IWC welcomes new students 1With so many professionals from such diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, students learn from each other as well as the program. “They have a wealth of knowledge, and so much passion," said Dr Brian McIntosh, IWC's Senior Lecturer and Education Program Manager. "They are a joy to be with.”

IWC extends a warm welcome to its new 2013 cohorts, and we look forward to sharing the challenging yet inspiring journey of integrated water management and leadership with you all.
