IWC Masters scholarships awarded
In the international round, scholarships covering full tuition fees and full living costs were given to two water leaders from Argentina and Pakistan, while a full-tuition scholarship went to a successful applicant from Poland. In the domestic round, two full-tuition scholarships were awarded to two high potential water leaders in the Australian water industry.
“The selection process this year was highly competitive,” said IWC Senior Lecturer and Education Manager Dr Brian McIntosh. “We received many high-quality applications from all around the world demonstrating great depth of professional and volunteering experience, and we would have liked to award many more scholarships. If you have been unsuccessful this time around, I strongly encourage you to apply again next year.”
IWC thanks all applicants and congratulates the recipients whose profiles will be published on IWC’s website over the next few weeks.
$7,000 partial scholarships
For those who missed out on a full-tuition scholarship, there is still good news: to support future water leaders, IWC is offering a partial scholarship (AU$7,000) to every self-funded student who enrols in an IWC Integrated Water Management Program (Masters, Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate) commencing in Semester 1 in February 2016.
In addition to the partial scholarship, IWC will refund flights to Australia for self-funded international students who hold a passport from the United States, Canada or a country member of the European Union. This offer is only valid for return economy class airfares to and from Brisbane via the most direct route and up to the maximum value of AU$2,500 including all taxes.
Other financial aid
We also encourage prospective students to look for alternative scholarships and loans or to seek funding from their employer. Applicants should also enquire directly with the Department of Education or any other relevant agency in their home country for potential funding opportunities from their federal governments.
Note: All applicants have been notified by email between 19 and 20 October 2015 about the outcome of their scholarship application. For further enquiries please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
