Dr Dennison with IWC Masters students on a field trip on Stradbroke Island

In Maryland, Bill leads the Integration and Application Network (www.ian.umces.edu), a group of Science Integrators and Science Communicators who produce scientific syntheses and environmental report cards regionally, nationally and globally.  One of these efforts that Bill will work on while in Brisbane is an environmental report card for the Great Barrier Reef.

Due to the timing of the sabbatical, Bill will be working on scientific synthesis and communication of the floods throughout the east coast of Queensland.  Bill also intends on developing some online teaching modules and computer apps for science communication and environmental reporting.

He is also working on a book with Dr. Peter Oliver and will aid in teaching the Masters of Integrated Water Management course offered by IWC.  You can follow Bill’s activities while in Australia on his blog: www.ian.umces.edu/blog.
