IWC attend 2010 World Water Week in Stockholm

The IWC were well represented at this year’s World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden, with staff, students and alumni attending the premier global water conference in early September.

More than 2500 delegates attended the event, including many distinguished guests and dignitaries, academics, experts in the water management and business sectors, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organisations, research and training organisations, and many United Nations agencies.

The conference features plenary sessions and panel debates, scientific workshops, poster exhibitions, side events and seminars. More than 200 organisations collaborate in the development of event which is led by the Stockholm International Water Institute.

World Water Week covers a wide range of water, development and sustainability issues and a major aim of the event is to link practice, science, policy and decision-making.

This year represented the 20th anniversary of the event and was celebrated by many who attended the various social events including a gala dinner at the beautiful Vasa Museum. For more information on the 2010 World Water Week, please visit www.worldwaterweek.org
