Studying part-time

Participating in the MIWM part-time gives you the flexibility to study while you work to:

  • Develop your technical, planning, managerial and leadership skills in the water sector.
  • Enhance your performance in your current role and improve your future career prospects.
  • Play an active role in the design and delivery of innovative, whole-of-water-cycle solutions to complex water management challenges.
  • Build your skills and knowledge in planning and managing responses to global challenges including water security, climate change, the water-energy-food nexus and the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Connect, collaborate and learn from the hundreds of other water professionals who form the MIWM’s global alumni network.

The part-time program will commence on 20 February with a week-long intensive in Brisbane including a three-day field trip to North Stradbroke Island.

Bonus Scholarship AU$9,000

Why Integrated Water Management?



IWM Master of Integrated Water Management

Enrol at The University of Queensland and study 1.5 years full-time or 3 years part- time/distance. The program is also available as a Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma.

The International WaterCentre Master of Integrated Water Management creates water leaders by drawing on international teaching and research from many fields to provide a transdisciplinary, whole-of-water-cycle approach to water management.

The program offers three specialisation streams: 'WASH and development', 'Urban water' and 'Water, land and people'.
