The International Riversymposium provides a platform for river managers, policy developers, scientists, consultants, NGOs and community organisations to share knowledge and innovative ideas on all aspects of river and water management.
This integrated conference brings together the disciplines of science, governance, planning, community, education, Indigenous peoples and more, whilst encouraging collaboration and integration.

This year’s Riversymposium has something for all river professionals, and the standard registration cost has been lowered substantially to ensure no financial barriers to this exciting event. Above all, the Riversymposium will be an occasion to celebrate – with Riverprize and Emerging River Professional awards to be presented at the fabulous Gala dinner, a river art festival, and a strong social program.

The 17th International Riversymposium has five main themes where different aspects of river basin management at all scales will be examined, discussed and debated:

  • Large river basin management
  • Science and knowledge for river policy and management
  • Rivers for industries
  • Rivers and communities
  • River restoration and management practice.
